This carpet, a somewhat later NW Persian medallion carpet, continues the “Paradise Park” theme but in a more simplified fashion than the previous examples.

Here a border design with Dragon and Phoenix fighting in the foliage is repeated around the inner core of the central medallion. Surely this is the perfect carpet for a Gothic cathedral where it was once housed.
