The beginnings of the surreal animal drawing style shown here can be traced back to the Late Palaeolithic cave paintings of found in parts of southern France and northern Spain.  The rear-facing or recumbent pose of the red animal below carried important and as yet still unknown connotations during this time period.  Based on the characteristic Z2S weave, this fragment is most likely Anatolian in origin.
